Mini apps

A mini app is your own web app running inside the Yehulu wallet. Customers open it from Mini apps, are signed in automatically, and pay you with their wallet without leaving it.

telebirr compatible
Yehulu's mini-app API follows Ethio telecom telebirr's SuperApp mini-app API: the same endpoints, fields and signing. A mini app built for telebirr needs only a different base URL and keys.

  1. Register the app
Under Mini apps → New mini app: name, domain, category, description, logo, what the app needs, and your RSA public key. You get your sandbox credentials; the app secret is shown once.
  2. Test it
Add testers by phone number: the app appears in their wallet as a test app. Use the portal's Sandbox tab to run it with a test customer. Nothing real is charged in sandbox.
  3. Prove your domain
Publish the file the portal gives you at /.well-known/yehulu-miniapp-<app code>.txt on your domain and click Verify.
  4. Submit a version
Give the version number, the page to open, and the signed manifest. Automatic checks run on your domain, HTTPS and page; a passing version goes to Yehulu for review.
  5. Go live
When Yehulu approves the version, the app goes live for every wallet user. Issue your production credentials on the Overview tab and have your developer switch your server to them straight away: from approval on, customers (testers included) are signed in to production, and payments are real.

Taking a live app back to draft

  • Move to draft takes a live app out of the wallet for customers straight away, for maintenance or a big change. Your testers keep it.
  • Publish puts it back live without a new review, as long as it has an approved version.
  • Only Yehulu can turn an app off completely. If that happens, contact Yehulu support.
